Rotherfield Peppard Community Plan
During May and June2011 Questionnaires were delivered to all 680 homes in Rotherfield Peppard and these were collected during the next couple of months.
We received replies from very nearly 85% of the occupied homes in the Parish and 899 individual Adult Questionnaires and 118 from Young People. Thank you to everyone who took the time and trouble to take part. This outstanding result is also a credit to all the volunteers - one of whom collected from all 66 homes in her area.
There was a raffle held to encourage participation and completion of the Questionnaire and both the £100 prize for an adult and the £25 prize for a young person were claimed.
This terrific response overwhelmed the software which is used for the analysis and to provide the results. These were therefore not received until late December 2011 but are now available for you to view. (Results)
The first outcome from the Questionnaires was the identification of 153 volunteers for 22 different village activities. Many people volunteering for several different activities. These volunteers are now working on various projects including Carlings Orchard the 2012 Olympic Revels and Kingwood and Peppard Commons Volunteers.
A quick summary of the results is that respondents love where they live and its peaceful rural nature and generally do not want things to change. There are however concerns about speeding traffic the quality of repairs to the roads and footpaths the poor mobile phone coverage and broadband speeds (especially as many people are using their home broadband for work). There is also a desire to see a play area for children.
Working parties have been set up to look into these items. We are looking for someone to head up the important telecommunication group. If you would like to help with this please contact us on 01491 629676 or clerk@rppc.org.uk.
The Parish Council will be holding a Public Forum at the Sports Pavilion Stoke Row Road at 7:30 pm on Wednesday March 28th and all are welcome.
I encourage all residents and interested parties to read the results and comments and to form their own views. Please let us know your thoughts on clerk@rppc.org.uk or at our public meeting. I f you would like to be kept informed of Parish Council matters by email please also contact our Clerk at the above email address.
My thanks to the Parish Councillors and 15 other collectors and volunteers who have helped produce these results.
